Clearing the bed

Abu hurairah (radya allahu anhu) reported: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"When any of you goes to bed, he should shake off (or dust off) his bed sheet because he does not know what might have fallen on it after he had left it. Then he should recite:

'Bismika Rabbi wada'tu janbi, wa bika arfa'uhu, in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi 'ibadaka as-salihin' (O Allah! With your name I have lain on my side, and with your name I raise it. O Allah! If you hold my soul (i.e. take my life), then have mercy on it, and if you return it, then protect it with what you protect your pious servants)"1
