the reply on this discredit

is it muhammad’s fault that his folk are adulterers and that they will be punished in hell? he (pbuh) didn’t ever commit such a sin, especially before legation and in his youth although it was a very easy thing to do at that time in such society. there were special places known by all people at that time where one could find his forbidden pleasures. these places were marked with red fags, so that people could find them easily; they were known as “the red flags houses”.

so in spite that this atmosphere were very common and confessed by the whole society, our beloved prophet didn’t commit this sin ever, and all biography books say that he is a virtuous and chaste person and the almighty allah has sent him to change such manners of these societies.

muhammad’s message came to forbid  such actions and bad manners completely, and the holy quran mentions the kind of punishment that will given to those adulterers in this life and in the hereafter:

the woman and the man guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by allah, if you believe in allah and the last day. and let a party of the believers witness their punishment. (this punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime but if married persons commit it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to allah's law)." ( an nour:2)

this punishment has to be witnessed by all people, and if the adulterers are married they have to be punished by throwing them with stones till death.

those people – as mentioned in the holy quran - are of very low standard and can not be in a high level as the others:

“the adulterer-fornicator marries not but an adulteress-fornicatress or a mushrikah, and the adulteress-fornicatress none marries her except an adulterer-fornicator or a muskrik [and that means that the man who agrees to marry (have a sexual relation with) a mushrikah (female polytheist, pagan or idolatress) or a prostitute, then surely he is either an adulterer-fornicator, or a mushrik (polytheist, pagan or idolater). and the woman who agrees to marry (have a sexual relation with) a mushrik (polytheist, pagan or idolater) or an adulterer-fornicator, then she is either a prostitute or a mushrikah (female polytheist, pagan, or idolatress)]. such a thing is forbidden to the believers (of islâmic monotheism).” ( an nour:3)

so how could one be responsible for the sin committed by someone else?

can others carry someone else’s sins and repent instead of him?

in islam:

1st. committing sins is one’s own responsibility and has to be punished for it alone:

“allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. he gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "our lord! punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our lord! lay not on us a burden like that which you did lay on those before us (jews and christians); our lord! put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. pardon us and grant us forgiveness. have mercy on us. you are our maula (patron, suppor-ter and protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people." “  (al baqarah:286)

“no person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another.” ( al an’am:164)

and many other verses in the holy quran speak about this.

2ed. sins are not inherited and no one carries the sins of another one even if it is between sons and fathers.

“and fear a day (of judgement) when a person shall not avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from him nor will compensation be taken from him nor will they be helped.

( al baqarah:48)

there! every person will know (exactly) what (all) he had earned before, and they will be brought back to allah, their rightful lord (maula), and their invented false deities will vanish from them. “

( yunus:30)

“that allah may requite each person according to what he has earned. truly, allah is swift at reckoning." ( ibrahim:51)

“(remember) the day when every person will come up pleading for himself, and every one will be paid in full for what he did (good or evil, belief or disbelief in the life of this world) and they will not be dealt with unjustly.” ( an nahl:111)

“and allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth, in order that each person may be recompensed what he has earned, and they will not be wronged.” ( al jathiyah:22)

“every person is a pledge for what he has earned,” ( al muddaththir:38)

this is how islam treats the one who commits sins. no one will pay another’s sin, so why is muhammad (pbuh) blamed for being one of a tribe that doesn’t believe in the one allah and commits kinds of sins. he (pbuh) was sent by allah for being a virtuous person to carry allah’s last sent message to the whole world. the prophet never committed adultery and his message is forbidding it strictly and exhorting people to discharge their libido in marriage. that’s why all muslims are ordered not to overstate marriages and to help their sons and daughters to get married in an easy way.

the prophet used to hold marriages for the less amount of money. one day a young man came to him (pbuh) saying that he wants to marry but he doesn’t have enough money for that. the prophet told him “go and bring only a metal ring”. narrated by al bukhari.

and he (pbuh) also was making some of his companions marry only by what they memorize from the holy quran.

all these teachings and facilities given by the prophet to make marriages easier, made out of the islamic society at that time a very pure and chaste one. committing adultery at that time happened in very rare cases, and were treated and punished strictly to make people learn and get a lesson out of it.

so accusing the prophet that his tribe are adulterers isn’t reasonable at all, and their being punished in hell shows that no one – even if being one of the prophets family or relatives – carries the sin of others or can make allah forgive only for being one of muhammad’s tribe.

all people have to know the right path and follow it because he will be asked about all good and bad deeds he did in the doomsday…. :

it is not (proper) for the prophet and those who believe to ask allah's forgiveness for the mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the oneness of allah) even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the fire (because they died in a state of disbelief).” ( at tauba:113)

“and whenever you give your word (i.e. judge between men or give evidence, etc.), say the truth even if a near relative is concerned, and fulfill the covenant of allah, this he commands you, that you may remember. “ ( al an’am:152)

an example for that is the well known story of the woman that stole and was one of the tribe of “bani makhzoum” that was a well known tribe. her tribe tried not to let the prophet punish her; they sent zeid ( one of the prophet’s dearest) to him in order not to cut her hand ( as being the punishment of stealing mentioned in the holy quran). the prophet replied that this is an order from the almighty allah and can’t be changed. the prophet then orated to all people saying :” people in the past erred because they used to punish the weak and leave those of high honor…..and i swear to allah if fatema the daughter of muhammad stole, i would cut her hand” narrated by al bukhary

so the fact that some of the prophet’s relatives were polytheists - , as his uncle abu lahab, about whom the quran says:

“perish the two hands of abu lahab (an uncle of the prophet), and perish he! *his wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! *he will be burnt in a fire of blazing flames! *and his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of sadan which she used to put on the way of the prophet, or use to slander him).* in her neck is a twisted rope of masad (palm fibre).  “(al masad )  -

and that the prophet won’t be able to intercede for them shows the great justice of islam in treating all people in the same way and punishing the sinners whether they are nobles or weak…

we conclude out of all this, that this statement isn’t something that shames muhammad, in the contrary, it shows how great, just and fair islam is……
