(the declaration of faith)

what is the shahadah?

shahadah is:

لااله الا الله محمد رسول الله

la ilaha illallahu muhammaadur rasulallah

this means:

there is no god but allah;

muhammad is the messenger of allah.

it is also called al-kalimatut taiyibah

الكلمة الطيبة

shahadah is the first duty of a muslim.

a person becomes muslim by reciting and believing in the shahadah. in the shahadah, we declare that allah is our maker and lord. he has made us and given us all that we have. we also say in the shahadah that muhammad (pbuh) is the messenger of allah. he is our model leader who showed us the right path.

muhammad (pbuh) was sent to show us the right way and the straight path. he is our teacher. he is the last and the final of the messengers of allah.

we should remember that we must also believe in the angels, the books of allah, the day of judgment, destiny and the life after death.
