Events in the Life of Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH]

EVENTS BEFORE THE HIJRAH: 
 
 
The Year of the Elephant (53 years before the Hijrah): 
 
The birth of Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH]
 
 
49 years before the Hijrah: 
At the age of 4: The incident of the splitting open of his [PBUH] chest.
 
 
47 years before Hijrah:
At the age of 6: his mother (Aaminah) died at al-Abwaa·.
(He was taken into the care of his grandfather, Abdul-Muttalib)
 
 
45 years before Hijrah: 
At the age of 8: his grandfather died.
(He was taken into the care of his paternal uncle Aboo Taalib.)
 
 
41 years before Hijrah: 
At the age of 12, he went on a trading trip with his uncle, Aboo Taalib.
Amazing signs were seen with regard to him [PBUH].
The incident of Baheerah the monk.
 
28 years before Hijrah: 
At the age of 25: he married Khadeejah -radiyallaahu `anhaa.
 
 
18 years before Hijrah: 
At the age of 35: The Ka`bah was rebuilt, and the Black Stone was put in place
by Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH]
 
 
13 years before Hijrah (1st Year of Prophethood): 
He received the first Revelation (the first Aayahs of Soorah Iqra·), at the age of 40.
 
 
3rd year of Prophethood: 
He received the second Revelation (Sooratul-Muddaththir (74 ): Ayahs 1-4)
He was commanded to openly proclaim Islaam.
The Mushrikoon begin their persecution of the Muslims.
 
 
5th year of Prophethood:
Rajab: The first Hijrah to Abyssinia (12 men and 4 women).
Shawwaal: The Muslims returned from Abyssinia.
 
 
6th year of Prophethood: 
Hamzah and `Umar-radiyallaahu `anhumaa-accepted Islaam.
 
 
7th year of Prophethood:
The Quraysh boycotted Banoo Haashim and Banul-Muttalib.
(The boycott continued for 3 years).
 
  9th year of Prophethood:
The Night Journey and the Ascent through the Heavens (al-Israa· wal-Mi`raaj)
The Five Daily Prayers were prescribed.
The miracle of the splitting of the moon.

10th year of Prophethood:
The end of the Boycott.
6 months later: Aboo Taalib died.
3 days later: Khadeejah-radiyallaahu `anhaa-died.
Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH] went to call the people of at-Taa.if.
Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH] married `Aa·ishah -radiyallaahu `anhaa.
Allaah’s Messenger [PBUH] married Sawdah -radiyallaahu `anhaa.

12th year of Prophethood: 
The first Pledge of al-`Aqabah, during the days of the Hajj.

13th year of Prophethood: 
The second Pledge of al-`Aqabah, during the days of the Hajj.
